MFG DAY #2 (Thursday)
We had a great time with the students from Center Line High School, who visited Oakley Industries on Thursday. The students were very engaged and asked a lot of questions as we showed them around our facilities. They toured the press room, barbering area, foundry, mill room, assembly plant, CAD department and laser department. We're hopeful that the Center Line High School students gained some insight into automotive prototype and maybe some of them will have lasting careers in this industry.
MFG DAY #1 (Tuesday)
Manufacturing Day with Anchor Bay High School on Tuesday was a success! We met a lot of great students and gave them a tour of our facility. We demonstrated stamping parts, making tools, cutting parts and blanks on laser and welding and hemming assemblies. We also spent some time in the CAD department. We hope the students gained some insightful knowledge about this industry and maybe some things piqued their interests.
Manufacturing Day
Oakley Industries will be hosting students during the first week of October for Manufacturing Day. The students will be coming from Anchor Bay High School on Tuesday, October 4 and Center Line High School on Thursday, October 6. The idea of Manufacturing Day is to show students opportunities in the manufacturing industry. While we would hope that we might get some future employees from this endeavor, we are just doing our part as thousands of companies will be hosting students this week all across the country. It's clear that we need more people in the manufacturing world.
This is our first time hosting Manufacturing Day and we are very excited for the opportunity and we look forward to working with everyone to make Manufacturing Day a success!
