Besides this website, we've made a number of improvements throughout Oakley Industries that we'd love to share.
Our new Plant 4 is located next to existing plant 3. Over the past year we've renovated the inside for storage and assembly, and added a high bay addition of 7,000 square feet for welding and assembly, When we move the welders over from Fraser in early 2014, all of our operations will be on Automation Drive in Clinton Township. I can't tell you how much time, effort, and gas we'll save.
Speaking of savings, we've added a sand reclamation system for our
foundry. It's been in operation for about a year and has already paid for
itself. We purchase less sand, which means less delivery costs, as well
as less cost to haul away waste sand. Of course, recycling the sand is also
far more environmentally friendly.
We have just completed retrofitting seven of our Tarus mills with new Lemoine controls as well as new belts, motors, and drives. Our largest mill was retrofitted by Tarus in 2011. The machines are more accurate and more reliable and we are able to minimize downtime.
Our newest baby is the Trumpf TruLaser 7040 Multi Axis Laser just installed in October. Take a look how fast this cuts! This is our second Trumpf, but it's so fast, we've basically tripled our laser capacity.
Finally, we've been able to do some much needed refurbishment of our offices and the plant exteriors. From the new paint, carpet, and furniture to the newly painted exterior walls, repaired concrete, and refurbished outdoor lighting and signs, Oakley Industries is an improved environment for our team, customers, and neighbors.
I hope you can visit and see for yourself.
